Colours and Light
Numerous experiments and models show us the way in which our visual system determines a colour of an object. Sensation almost perfectly describes physical characteristics of the object, although the information that enters our eye depends not only on object’s physical characteristics (colour) but also on changeable observing conditions. But in cases when the same object is exposed to two different levels of light (for example, when one part of the object is in shade), our visual system uses two strategies for simplifying this complex situation and turning it into basic case of one source of light.
