Why Are We Here? Origins of Life Viewed Through the History of Universe
13.7 billions years ago, the Universe was born out of the Big Bang and was smaller than an atom. Only second after, it was 100 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 times bigger and continued to grow until present time. 300 000 years later, the first atoms appeared. 400 millions years was needed for the birth of the first sources of light – stars. 9.5 millions years after the Big Bang our Sun came into life. ‘Only’ 65 millions years ago, our planet was hit by an asteroid, which wiped dinosaurs out of its face, but also cleared the space for mammals. And here we are now, living together with flora and fauna, pondering about the Universe and wondering: Why are we here?
